Dead space 3 and Resident Evil 4and their impacts on their respective series, are extremely different. Resident Evil 4 is a beloved game widely regarded as one of the most impactful horror titles of all time, as it was a unique blend between the horror style of previous entries and the action of resident evil 5 and 6. Although it is often considered the best entry into the resident Evil series, Dead space 3 is quite the opposite.
Going too far in the direction of action, Dead space 3 ditches the intense scares of the first two games for over-the-top co-op settings and predictable waves of necromorphs. The creeping horror present in early entries is nowhere to be found, and while the game has some strong points like its setting and gunplay, it ultimately fell short of expectations. Fortunately, Capcom’s plans for Resident Evil 4 provide the ideal model for a Dead space 3 remake, and they should show Motive that a modded version of the third game could be a hit.
Dead Space 3 could change like Resident Evil 4
However Resident Evil 4 is loved by many, Capcom is still making changes to the title with the upcoming remake. Aiming to deliver a more serious story with intimidating enemies and less cheesy dialogue, the remake looks set to have a very different tone to the original. While it remains to be seen how fans react to the new version of Leon and some potential changes to his story, this approach is one that would greatly benefit a Dead space 3 remake.
So far there has been a lot of talk surrounding the making of Capcom Resident Evil 4The Ganados are more intimidating, reworking sections where zombified villagers are shown to be much scarier. That’s exactly what Dead space 3 would benefit, as EA Motive could add more terrifying necromorph encounters while minimizing combat against human enemies. Some of the sections that exist could be updated to be more gruesome, with more unexpected Necromorph attacks and a build up of tension ahead of bigger encounters that are sure to be welcome additions.
Based on Resident Evil 4 remake trailer, players could watch a much more serious version of the story that matches the remakes of Resident Evil 2 and 3 as to its tone. It would be a big change for Dead space 3, with Motive potentially dropping things that didn’t work, like the love triangle between Ellie, Isaac, and Norton. In its place, more terrifying moments with Carver could be introduced, as storylines where he saw things Isaac didn’t were the main highlights of Dead space 3.
Finally, we can assume that there will be no microtransactions in Resident Evil 4 do it again, and the same approach should be taken if Dead space 3 ever gets a modern makeover. Although the third entry’s weapon crafting should have been a highlight, since combining weapons together was a brilliant idea, it turned out to be extremely controversial due to the presence of Dead space 3the microtransactions of. By removing this controversial element from play, a Dead space 3 remake would be instantly more popular than the version launched in 2013.
Although it is not clear if the dead space remake will be a big enough success to lead to remakes of Dead space 2 and Dead space 3, EA Motive’s passion suggests that the remake of the first game will be very effective. If so, and the remakes of the other two games are greenlit, Motive should pay close attention to Dead space 3. Although it takes some effort, there is a way to make it a great game, building on its strengths and eliminating its weaknesses. Just like with the Resident Evil 4 remake, a change in tone would go a long way to improving the Dead space 3 live.
Dead space 3 is available now on PC, PS3 and Xbox 360.
