Khaleda must follow a legal procedure for treatment abroad: interior minister


Interior Minister Asaduzzaman Khan Kamal said if BNP chairwoman Khaleda Zia wanted treatment abroad, she had to follow the legal process.

“The court has ordered that Khaleda Zia can only receive treatment inside the country. If she wants anything more, she must inform the court and the court will make the decision,” he said. he declares.

The former prime minister was sent to Dhaka’s Old Central Jail as a lower court sentenced her to five years in the Zia Orphanage Trust corruption case on February 8, 2018.

Later, she was found guilty in another corruption case the same year.

Amid the Covid-19 pandemic, the government temporarily released Khaleda from prison through an executive order suspending her sentence on March 25, 2020, on the condition that she stay at her home in Gulshan and not leave the country.
