Killer’s mother can’t sue Pa. Hospital over her son’s treatment

By Mike Curley (January 26, 2022, 6:18 PM EST) – A Pennsylvania appeals court on Wednesday dismissed claims against the University of Pennsylvania Hospital by the mother of a convicted murderer alleging negligent psychiatric treatment of the The hospital led to his son’s crimes, saying state law blocks any claims for damages arising from the commission of a crime.

The panel upheld in part and reversed in part a Philadelphia court order in the lawsuit filed by Sandra Dinardo, whose son, Cosmo Dinardo, killed four men in 2017 when he was 20. He has confessed to the murders, is serving a life sentence and faces civil suits…
